Our Pre-GCSE English Pathway supports learners who are not yet ready for GCSE English but have the potential to progress towards it.

​

This course helps learners strengthen the core reading and writing skills needed to succeed in GCSE study.

Who This Course Supports

This course is ideal for learners who:

  • Are in Years 9–10

  • Have EHCPs or SEND needs

  • Need extra preparation before starting GCSE English

  • Have experienced gaps in education

  • Would benefit from a supportive and confidence-building learning environment

  • Reading and analysing texts

  • Writing structured responses

  • Vocabulary development

  • Paragraph and essay writing
