Let’s Go Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Online safety is a fundamental part of our safeguarding responsibilities.
This policy should be read alongside our Safeguarding Policy and is written in accordance with:

2. Scope
This policy applies to:

All students
-
All staff
-
Parents/carers where relevant

Any third-party providers accessing our platforms
It covers all online activity undertaken as part of Let’s Go Learning provision, including remote teaching sessions.
3. Online Safety Lead

Role and Responsibilities of the Online Safety Lead
The Online Safety Lead is responsible for:

Overseeing the implementation of this policy

Ensuring compliance with statutory safeguarding guidance
-
Monitoring online safety incidents and trends
-
Ensuring appropriate filtering and monitoring systems are in place
-
Supporting staff training in online safety
-
Liaising with the DSL regarding safeguarding concerns
-
Ensuring safe practice in remote learning provision

Reviewing this policy annually
All online safety concerns must be reported immediately to the Online Safety Lead or DSL.
4. Management of Online Safety Within Provision
As internet access forms the delivery of educational provision, Let’s Go Learning will:

Ensure platforms used are suitable and risk-assessed
-
Use appropriate filtering and monitoring systems where applicable
-
Ensure staff use professional accounts only
-
Prohibit staff-student contact via personal social media
-
Maintain clear reporting and escalation procedures
-
Ensure safer recruitment checks (including DBS where required) are completed for staff
Monitoring of online platforms will be proportionate, for safeguarding purposes, and in line with data protection legislation.
5. Additional Considerations for Remote Sessions
Where sessions are delivered remotely:

Sessions must take place via approved platforms only
-
Staff must use professional accounts
-
1:1 sessions must follow safeguarding protocols (including transparency and reporting procedures)

Recording of sessions must follow data protection guidance
-
Staff must ensure professional conduct, dress, and appropriate backgrounds
-
Students must behave respectfully and follow acceptable use expectations
Any safeguarding concern arising during remote provision must be reported immediately to the DSL.
6. The Four Areas of Online Risk (KCSIE)
In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, we recognise four key areas of online risk:
1. Content
Being exposed to illegal, inappropriate or harmful material, including:

Pornographic content

Misinformation or disinformation

Violent or self-harm related content
2. Contact
Being subjected to harmful interaction with others online, including:

Cyberbullying
-
Grooming
-
Coercion or exploitation

Peer-on-peer abuse
3. Conduct
Online behaviour that increases the likelihood of, or causes, harm, including:

Sharing inappropriate images
-
Online harassment
-
Posting harmful or defamatory content

Breaches of privacy
4. Commerce
Risks such as:

Online gambling
-
Inappropriate advertising
-
Phishing
-
Financial scams
-
In-app purchasing exploitation
We actively educate students about these risks and promote digital resilience and critical thinking.
7. Acceptable Use Expectations
General Use

Technology must be used for educational purposes during sessions.

Users must follow staff instructions when accessing online platforms.
Online Behaviour

All communication must be respectful and appropriate.
-
Bullying, harassment, discrimination or inappropriate language is strictly prohibited.
Personal contact details must not be shared without permission.
Privacy and Confidentiality

Users must not record, screenshot, or distribute session content without explicit permission.

Personal data must be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
Cybersecurity

Users must keep login details secure.

Suspicious links, emails or requests must be reported immediately.
8. Ongoing Awareness and Safety Beyond Provision
Let’s Go Learning recognises that safeguarding extends beyond direct provision.
We promote:

Age-appropriate digital literacy

Awareness of online risks at home

Guidance for parents where appropriate
-
Encouragement for students to report concerns occurring outside sessions
Where serious safeguarding concerns arise outside provision, these may be referred in line with statutory safeguarding procedures.
9. Reporting Concerns
All users must report concerns about:

Inappropriate content

Harmful online interaction

Suspicious behaviour

Security breaches
Reports should be made immediately to:

The Online Safety Lead

The Designated Safeguarding Lead
If a child is at immediate risk of harm, emergency services should be contacted.
10. Consequences of Misuse
Breaches of this policy may result in:

Suspension or removal of platform access

Disciplinary procedures

Referral under safeguarding procedures

In serious cases, referral to external agencies
11. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if statutory guidance changes.
